Review snippet:
A new review of Coffee and Crushes at the Cat Café was titled “Sweet and innocent romance will make you feel good about people again.”
“This book is perfect for these troubled times. It's a sweet romance that's innocent enough for teenyboppers to share with their mothers as they shelter together on the couch.”

Send the book to someone who needs a comfort read! Or send the whole collection for 3-in-1 fun – The Furrever Friends Cat Café Collection includes Coffee and Crushes, Kittens and Kisses, and Tea and Temptation.Get it from my Amazon US page or Amazon UK page. (For other countries click here.)

Here’s Panda begging for attention. Look at those short little legs!

For Panda exploring the TP situation, see this video.

Also fun, paying taxes. I came across this message:
"You are a small business taxpayer if you have average annual gross receipts of $26 million or less for the three prior tax years."
Well, good to know I only have 25.9 million and a lot of change to go. Thanks.

Hubby and I have been getting outside some. Shooting things with arrows is a good way to blow off steam.

Cat cafés in the news: Check out Cat & Craft - Cafe to see their ongoing adoptions. They also have an online shop with clothing, mugs, jewelry, pillows and more. Proceeds “help mitigate the costs we will continue to carry in order to save cats.”

Digital Mistake of the day:
"I think we can show the knife was in the drawer when it was locked."
"How?"
"By the butter."
This exchange was intriguing, until I realized that it was the result of a digitalization error in an old Perry Mason novel, and it was supposed to be butler, not butter. I really wanted to know how butter on the knife proved where it had been.

Things you should be watching: Save Our Shelter on Netflix
Two guys visit animal shelters (mostly for dogs) and help them renovate. There is a strong marketing element – you'll know who their sponsors are – but it's also wholesome and sweet to see the passion and generosity people have taking care of animals.

Cat cafés in the news:
Many small businesses are struggling due to being shut down, including cat cafés and shelters. If you have a few dollars to spare, consider making a donation, buying merchandise, or participating in fundraisers such as this raffle for The Cattery. Many places are also looking for foster families for animals.

A Purrfect Comfort Read - sweet #romance Kittens and Kisses only .99 #MRFWorg

x
On Sale - Kittens and Kisses at the Cat Café: A Furrever Friends Sweet Romance - 99 cents March 18-24.

He’s loved her forever. She still sees him as the neighbor kid. Can five desperate kittens bring them together?

Marley is a baker at the new Furrever Friends Cat Café, which is still trying to find its footing. Her nine-year-old son, Brian, desperately wants a kitten, but they can’t have pets where they live. Who has the time to date? Just as well that she’s protected her heart since the father of her child disappeared.

Adam has loved Marley since he was 13, and she was his best friend’s free-spirited older sister. Back then, he fantasized about rescuing her from bandits or dragons. Now he’s 24, and the five-year age gap isn’t so serious. He wants nothing more than to become a family with Marley and her son. But will she ever see him as a man?

When someone leaves a box of week-old kittens at the café, Adam jumps at the chance to be a hero. But herding kittens might be tougher than fighting dragons, especially when two of them fail to thrive. Can Adam, Marley, and Brian save the kittens and find a future together?

News: Cats, ferrets, books, history, and the double tap mistake #MFRWorg

This post is from my newsletter. (Sign up to get every post plus your free ebook copy of a Lions and Love at the Cat Café, a 10,000-word story set in the world of the Furrever Friends cat café).

I hope you are staying healthy, finding enough toilet paper, and taking some time to enjoy yourself – perhaps with a good book.

Pic: Panda double-checks the supply of toilet paper. Ferrets don't understand the need, but apparently this is an important hoomin thing.

Voice recognition mistake of the day:  In regards to what to do instead of shaking hands, I said "elbow tap is fine as long as people aren't coughing and sneezing into their elbows." My phone voice recognition briefly suggested Elmo tap before switching to double tap. I guess the double tap (shooting someone twice to make sure they're dead) would take care of the problem of virus transmission, but it would create other problems.

If you have kids at home and need to both educate and entertain them, may I recommend two of my middle grade novels (written under the name Chris Eboch).

Ask your local bookstore to order paperback copies, or find the books at Amazon or Amazon UK. (For other countries click here.) Or get them at B&N/NookKobo,  or iBooks.

Teachers who would like lesson plans associated with the book can find them at my website. If you buy a classroom or school set of 6 or more copies, contact me via my website for a free Skype visit.

Café news: Try this great recipe for Chai Tea Shortbread

Cute of the day: I love these “Minimal LandscapeIllustrations For Art And Cat Lovers.”

Things you should be watching: Kitten Rescue, Netflix. In Kittens and Kisses, you meet Jenna, a veterinarian. She's the female lead in Tea and Temptation. Kitten Rescue shows animal control officers in the UK rescuing cats and kittens from a variety of situations. It also shows vets tackling the problems of injured or sick cats and kittens. Warning, there are some rather gruesome surgery scenes, but the host warns you to look away if you have a weak stomach. Also, if you only want success stories, you might want to stop with the first four episodes.

This giveaway event is for romance novels of all heat levels and genres.  Get previews and complete stories in a variety of romance sub-genres. You'll find sweet to sexy, small town to big city. See all the books here.

Coffee and Crushes at the Café is now available free for review from Booksprout. It's also available via Story Origin, but if you already have an account through Booksprout, no doubt you'll find that version easier.

Stay safe everyone!

Chai Tea Shortbread #Cookie #Recipe from the Cat Café sweet #romance #MFRWorg

My Furrever Friends Cat Café sweet romance series is set around a cat café. (Cat cafés are crosses between coffee shops and pet adoption centers. Learn more about cat cafés here.)

Since the series  involves a café, I mention delectable baked goods and include a recipe at the end of each book. Here's one from the free novella, Lions and Love at the Cat Café. This sweet romance novella, complete at 35 pages, is free as a PDF, MOBI (Kindle), or ePub when you sign up for the Kris Bock email newsletter here: https://sendfox.com/lp/1g5nx3.

If you prefer not to sign up for the newsletter, Lions and Love at the Cat Café is also on sale for 99 cents. Find it on Kris Bock’s Amazon US page or Amazon UK page. For B&N (Nook), Kobo, and other retailers, check here.

Chai Tea Shortbread Cookies

If using loose-leaf tea, grind the tea into a rough powder first. If using tea bags, cut open the tea bags (4-6) and measure. Tea bags usually have a more powdered mix, so you don't have to grind it. Mix the ingredients in a food processor for ease. You can also press the dough into a shortbread pan and bake for about 30 minutes

2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons chai tea (ground fine)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Blend the flour, sugar, chai, and salt.

Mix in the butter and vanilla. Press the mixture into a ball of dough.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/3-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter and place cookies 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper or silicone baking sheets. Bake until the edges are golden, 8-12 minutes depending on size. Let cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks and cool to room temperature.

You can also get 13 of the recipes mentioned in the novella and books 1, 2, and 3. Get it here as a direct download in PDF, mobi (Kindle) or ePub.
