#MysteryExchange – sign up to exchange mystery or suspense blog posts

This information is for a blog hop. Authors of mystery, suspense, romantic suspense, and similar novels are invited to join. The goal is to gain exposure for your books by cross-promoting.

Here's how it works:
  1. You sign up and agree to host others on your blog in the comment section. Include the following :
·         your name
·         email address (You may wish to format e-mail addresses like this: name (at) site (dot) com)
·         genre with any sub genres
·         any information that might make your book not appropriate for certain blogs, such as explicit sex or a high level of violence
·         any limits on who you'll accept as guests, such as G-rated books only, only books with a romance or only books without a romance etc. (Many people read across genres so I hope we don't need to be too restricted, so long as we let readers know what they're getting.)
  1. Signup will close June 25.
  2. Then email others on the list and let them know that you are interested in doing an exchange. Please put Author Exchange in the subject line so they won't think you are spam.
  3. Give dates you have available to host them and if you have a preferred date, request it. Agree on dates.
  4. Write and exchange posts. Send:

- A title. Post titles should included the hashtag #MysteryExchange (one word). This is to make it easier to retweet.
- your cover and/or other appropriate images
- author photo
- blurb up to 300 words
- excerpt up to 500 words
- Purchase links up to 5
- author short bio  up to100 words
- author links

The Exchange runs through July, although if you prefer to ask for a specific different date (such as when you have a new release), that's fine. Check back on June 25 for others who have signed up for the exchange.

Please share your guests’ posts throughout your social media networks, and when you are a guest, share that blog link with your networks. In addition, search for the #MysteryExchange hashtag and share other people's posts.

The Eyes of Pharaoh is mystery set in ancient Egypt for young people (ages nine and up). It will be of special interest to young people, teachers and librarians, but adults who enjoy historical mysteries may also be interested.

I have a writing blog, so posts with a writing focus are best for that. A reprint is fine, and of course you can use your book(s) as examples or include a blurb after the post. http://chriseboch.blogspot.com/

I also write novels for adults as Kris Bock and can host guests on that blog – information in the next comment.

What We Found is a mystery with strong romantic elements. I'd rate it PG for brief scenes of partial nudity and making out. If you prefer a book with no explicit sexual elements, I also have titles that are closed door, but they are more romantic suspense than mystery (hunting a lost treasure or missing person, not solving a crime).

For my blog, The Southwest Armchair Traveler, a travel angle or recipe is ideal, but I'm happy to do a book description and excerpt. The excerpt should be clean, though the book does not have to be. https://swarmchairtraveler.blogspot.com/

I write a paranormal mystery series about a woman who can step into other people's dreams. I'd rate them PG to PG-13 (there is closed-door sex, and a handful of instances of bad language).

Gumshoe Girl is a romantic mystery that has a comedic tilt. It is about an amateur sleuth who fumbling her way through her first case while trying to prove herself to an attractive FBI agent. I would rate it PG, nothing really explicit.

As far as my blog, I love to do author interviews. It's always fun if there is a giveaway, but definately not necesssary.

ICED is the first in my Resort to Murder cozy mystery series and is on special at the moment so I'm trying to feature it. Rating is "G" although some adult topics come up in the investigation.

My blog is Mysteries and My Musings and I cover mystery, suspense, and thriller titles. Posts can be a book spotlight or include a guest post or even a book giveaway. My readers are varied but appreciate knowing the heat level and gore level of a book upfront.

    Christian Fiction/Legal Thriller

Tatia’s Tattoo is G rated in relation to language and explicit sex, but there are implications of both sex and violence because the subject is sex trafficking in small town America. If you would like to read a sample before making a decision, go to https://www.bookpros.com/books/15 and click on “Download a sample” below the cover.

I would prefer no more than PG-rated with no outright profanity or graphic scenes. My favorites are mysteries, cozy or otherwise, and though I enjoy a romantic interest, I’m not big on “sweet” romances. I’m also not into vampires and witches, but other than that, I’m pretty eclectic.
My blog is called www.lifeaftercaregiving.wordpress.com. The tag line is “On caregiving, faith, family, and writing,” so my readers are accustomed to a mix of subjects including the antics of the feral cat who rules our household.

    Blessings,
    Linda

I am open through June-July except the week of July 8-15.

  9. I'm kathleenrowland10 at gmail.com --A huge thank you to you, Kris Bock, for organizing this mystery-romance blog hop. I write steamy romantic suspense but blurbs and excerpts are for the general audience. I do not have an adult filter on my blog, kathleenrowland.blogspot.com but welcome any books. Like most of you, I'm on Triberr, and you will see RTs.

    Romantic Suspense
My book, Arresting Mason, would be considered R (5 star heat rating) because of the sex scenes, dirty language, and some violence. It’s about a man who was recently released from prison on parole. His former gang targets the hero and heroine, and they must stick together to stay alive.
For my blog, I usually post only romance books of a variety of subgenres and heat levels, but I’m opened to straight mystery/suspense for this swap. No Christian and children/grade school books, please. As for the content, I will accept straight promo for you and your book, and I’ll send you my promo in return.

    Thanks so much,

  11. Stacy Juba - stacy@stacyjuba.com. I write cozy mysteries with a romance subplot. PG13. I’m open to books of different heat levels on my blog but the excerpt should be PG or PG13 without sex or profanity.

    Cozy Mystery
The Marquesa's Necklace is the first book in the Oak Grove Mysteries series. The series runs to lighthearted action with a touch of romance. I'd rate it as PG-13 for adult topics and discussions, but contains no explicit sex. I host a variety of books on my blog, but prefer a PG excerpt. My blog is https://pjmaclayne.blogspot.com/ and I usually slate Thursdays to host fellow authors.

    Amateur sleuth mystery
In It For The Money is the 4th in the Holly Price series. The books are more traditional mystery than a true cozy (Contemporary, small town, relationship is a subplot). I'd rate it PG-13 - mostly off page sex but some profanity; excerpt will be PG.
My blog is the same - a variety of books but a PG excerpt please
