Romance and Rescues at the Cat Café: a Furrever Friends Sweet Romance
is just 99 cents until June 22!

“Kris Bock’s series about the Cat Café provides delightful reads for those who enjoy sweet romance and pet rescue stories.” - author Gayle M. Irwin

Can getting stranded in a creepy house full of abandoned cats turn these enemies into friends—or even something more?

After a rotten week, Holly jumps at the chance to go on a rescue mission. Dozens of cats are stranded in a remote house where the owner has died. They’ve been abandoned, and she can sympathize. But she did not agree to make the road trip with Dustin, her rival and biggest headache at the cat café where they both work.

Dustin has given up trying to get Holly to like him. Still, a long drive through a snowstorm and an overnight in a house full of cats might bring them together—or result in his violent demise. But what they find is worse than they ever imagined: no lights, no heat, the snow still coming down, and over twenty hungry, skittish cats. They’ll have to work as a team to survive and save the animals.

One thing is certain—if they make it back alive, their relationship won’t be the same.

“I really loved this book from the very beginning to the very end.” – Patty M.

"An amazing story about rescuing 20 or so cats and finding friendship. Or maybe more… In the Cat Café tradition Kris Bock has established, this is a really fine book. Keep up the series, please!" - author Dee Knight

Peek:

“No lights?” he said.

“No heat, either. At least the water works.”

He hadn’t even noticed until then that the inside of the house was almost as cold as outside. Probably not really – it might be in the 40s inside. But it was certainly too cold for comfort, and if it got even colder during the snowstorm, the cats could be in danger.

“Have you tried any more light switches?” he asked.

“A few. Either multiple light bulbs have burned out, or the electricity is completely out. We should look for a breaker box.” She shone her light around. “Do you notice something about all these cats?”

“Like there’s something strange about all of them? I was wondering if it was my imagination and the shadows.”

“Look at the way that one is moving.” She pointed at a cat who was hopping, almost like a rabbit. “I think it’s missing both front legs.”

“It’s not the only one missing something.” Dustin pointed his flashlight at a black cat perched on a pile of newspapers on the sofa. It had one large ear sticking up like a triangle. “That one’s missing an ear, and maybe a chunk of its head, though that’s impossible so I’ll blame the shadows for that impression.”

“What have we found?” Holly whispered.

Kris Bock is on a roll (or should I say cupcake?) with this series. This time, baristas Holly and Dustin rescue a van-load of handicapped cats from a spooky old house during a snowstorm and end up thawing a chilly relationship.” - author Jennifer Bohnhoff
